		<description>why would an affiliate send traffic to and pay for a direct link to the merchant with no affiliate link connected?  Are you suggesting affiliates are sending free traffic to a merchant to avoid some sort of detection? They must be applying some sort of logic in the redirect and that logic must be wrong sometimes which results in sending the merchant free traffic.  Can brand varity calculate this amount of free traffic to the merchant?</description>

We often come across a number of affiliates chancing their arm with clever redirectors from legitimate looking sites.

When they fly under the radar so to speak, they are indeed difficult to catch, however, we are seeing an increasing number of affiliates using this method very lazily. One look at their stats (1000+ clicks a day), then a look at their referring site (a crappy single blog post from their “deals blog”), and it’s a no-brainer that they’re doing something dodgy.</description>
