Techcrunch reports that CitizenHawk recently raised a $3M round.

CitizenHawk sells its services in two ways:

  1. You can purchase their typosquatter identification tools and manage the recovery process yourself.
  2. They acquire domains for free as long as you allow them to be an affiliate for 2 years.

We feel that this is great validation of the pain in the trademark abuse space, but I question how comfortable trademark owners would be authorizing a third party to profit from trademark misspellings.

Either way, the tools are slowly developing that enable trademark owners to combat rampant abuse online.
